Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini

(also the two sequels Dreamless and Goddess)

I absolutely loved this book, but a warning – you have to read all three books in the trilogy because the story doesn’t end with this book (and it’s not very satisfying unless you continue straight into the next one). The story starts quite slowly and is a bit confusing at first, but once you get into it and things start to be explained, you’re hooked. And when Lucas comes onto the scene – wow, things really start to heat up! I loved the whole concept of demigods and basing this on Greek mythology and stories like the Odyssey. It totally works and the author has done a great job of weaving it all together so it makes sense. Definitely one of my favourite reads this year!

I rate this book:
